DFW Founders Plaza

Picking spots to spend time with your family can be a challenging task. You have to find places that everyone in your family is going to enjoy. DFW Founders Plaza is an excellent choice if you are visiting or live in Grapevine, TX. The children will love it, and adults will enjoy it too.

History

Founders Plaza was built as a tribute to the DFW Airport founders. The idea the DFW Airport founders had was to create an airport that would stimulate the local economy in the North Texas area. The community, along with civic leaders and Friends of DFW, constructed the monument.

They inaugurated it in 1995, and people can come and watch the planes land and take off and enjoy a nice picnic lunch.

The Monument

As mentioned above, the DFW Founders Plaza was created as a tribute, and therefore its features are also symbolic. They include four panels that represent the original terminals at the airport. It also has side panels with a width of 35″ that symbolizes the 35miles between Fort Worth and Dallas. The builders also put the Airport seal in the center as a symbol of the airport location.

Visiting

You do not have to pay an entry fee to sit at the plaza and watch the planes, and it is an opportunity for your children to learn about them. For people on a budget, this is an excellent outing for the whole family. You can also hear the pilots talking to the control tower, which is exciting for everyone.

The DFW Founders Plaza is an excellent trip for the entire family. You and the members of your family can sit, relax and enjoy your lunch outdoors. If you are touring the area from out of state, there are great restaurants in the area. You can pick up a packed lunch to enjoy at the Founders Plaza.
